🇫🇷 Lucette's cooking
French bistro cooking: slow-simmered sauces, braised meats, grandmother-style desserts. Butter, wine and time.
🇨🇳 Mei's cooking · 东北菜
The cooking of Northeast China, from Jilin and Heilongjiang: slow-cooked dishes for long winters, dumplings made with the family, big plates for sharing. Warm, honest and generous.
Our story
Two chefs, two cultures, one friendship
Lucette, from Lyon, trained in the city's traditional bouchons and bistros. Mei arrived from Tumen, in Jilin province, fifteen years ago. They met in a Paris kitchen and discovered that their grandmothers cooked almost the same things: fermented cabbage, slow-cooked dishes, dumplings on Sundays. In 2018 they opened this restaurant together in the heart of Belleville, with one simple idea: good, generous food at a fair price for everyone, whatever their budget.

- Fair prices

What they say
“Cabbage dumplings just like my grandmother's in Harbin, and a real bourguignon in the same meal!”

Good to know before you come
What is Northeast Chinese cooking?
It is the cooking of Jilin, Heilongjiang and Liaoning (东北菜): mild rather than spicy, generous, built on slow-cooked dishes, dumplings, pickled cabbage and potatoes. Home cooking, very close to our bistro dishes.
What is a “suspended meal”?
When you pay your bill, you can also pay for a meal (€9.90) for someone who cannot afford one. The meal is noted on our board; the person comes to collect it discreetly, without having to explain anything. The idea comes from Naples and its “suspended coffee”.
Do you offer reduced prices?
Yes: at lunchtime, students, jobseekers and retired people get 20% off on presentation of proof. And the dish of the day stays at €9.90 for everyone.
Do I need to book?
At lunchtime, it is not necessary. In the evening, and especially on Fridays and Saturdays, we recommend booking your table by phone or with the form.
Do you have vegetarian dishes?
Yes, there are French and Chinese vegetarian dishes every day at no extra cost, such as the “three treasures of the earth” (地三鲜). Please tell us about any allergies: we adapt dishes whenever we can.
Do you speak Chinese?
Yes: 我们说中文。The team speaks French, Mandarin Chinese and English, and a Chinese menu is available on request.
Can we book the whole restaurant for Chinese New Year or a party?
Yes, for 20 to 35 people, with a tailor-made menu: a Northeast Chinese banquet, a French menu or a mix of both. Ask us for a quote.
A table for tonight?
Book with one phone call, or in two minutes with the form.
